About me

My name is Sophia and I'm a 19 year old 2D illustrator, working with both digital and traditional media. I'm in my second year of university studying graphics, although I spend more time on illustrations and building up my portfolio.

I started taking my career path as an artist more seriously from 2018, the same year that I started drawing digitally aswell. Back then I was finding out about other artists, communities and sites that definetely inspired me into taking this path, and it still does until today. When I firstly started drawing digitally, my only equipment was an old smartphone and my finger. It was indeed challenging to try making a decent result but I realized that this long path made me more disciplined to my goal, hence why I always say that equipment doesn't really stop anyone that wants to chase their goals. In fact, I got my first tablet in 2023, although you can see older drawings like the one of the bat and the moth - these were made around the year 2020. But I won't lie, I have a "closet" full of failed artworks which will not stop growing, since failure and disappointment is completely normal and a part of anyone's journey and it is definetely something that should not stop you but rather make you see what you should focus on more.

My artworks nowadays focus more on cartoon, anime and videogame characters, since one of my main goals is to become either a freelancer or an employee at companies such as Udon or Capcom, although working for a different video game or comic company would be more than great aswell.I recently started going to different conventions while getting to share my work and meet people with similar interests, and most of the times getting them to have a piece of my artworks in their personal collection! I'm planning to travel abroad next year to different conventions to showcase my work with more people aswell and connect with even more, and maybe in the near future I will be able to open an online store too.
